    Job Description
    
    This is a senior technical position reporting to the COO.  Successful 
    candidates will be responsible for the following:
    
    •	Leads the product development of netForensics’ products.
    •	Provides direction and leadership for the implementation of 
    software best practices 
    •	Provides technical input to the netForensics Strategic Plan 
    •	Negotiates requirements for new products with Marketing, Sales, 
    Product and Services 
    •	Builds a strong engineering organization: software and networking 
    competencies essential. Must be effective recruiter of talented 
    engineers. 
    •	Needs to interact with the executive management team
    •	Provide engineering support to sales organization 
    •	Manage netForensics intellectual property development and 
    licenses 
    
    This hands-on position requires the ability for candidates to leverage 
    their in-depth technical knowledge and exceptional communication skills 
    to develop product design, technology and deliverables.  In addition, 
    successful candidates will be responsible for managing the engineering 
    team
    
    Finally, candidates will also be responsible for researching and 
    developing necessary knowledge in the network security space to support 
    sales and pre-sales staff.
    
    Job Requirements
    
    •	10+ years of experience in experience in the security, network, 
    or systems management software industries
    •	BA/BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science – an MBA is a 
    plus.
    •	Proven success in defining product development and has lead a 
    product development team for a software company
    •	Strong background in leading software process improvement efforts 
    and knowledge of software best practices. Working knowledge of SEI 
    Capability Maturity Model (CMM) or equivalent process is a plus
    •	Working knowledge of current software technologies: Perl, 
    Microsoft .Net, Java, Visual Basic, C++, Unix and Windows O/S's
    •	Desired: Experience with Linux O/S, Networking Technologies, 
    Firewalls, DoS 
    •	Exceptional analytical, planning, organization, verbal/written 
    communication skills
    •	Must be willing to travel when needed.
    •	Working knowledge of patents, licenses and trademarks is a plus
