Ok, 2 points I'd like to make: 1. After approximately 2 minutes of searching, I've found different cracks of both Windows and Office XP. Thats serials & ISO's. 99% of products have been cracked - even these shareware-fully-enabled-but-with-a-register-me-reminder. 2. This article on GRC.COM seems to be making the rounds on most newsgroups. My personal opinion is that it's a load of crap. I've posted a longer version on my thoughts elsewhere, but to summarise, Steve seems to blame Microsoft for user-illiteracy of the operating system, and malicious 3rd party code. Thats like blaming a car manufacturer when the driver of the car has an accident. Anyway, for those of you who are interested, here's MS's rebuttal: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/raw_sockets.asp Ian Kayne Technical Specialist - IT Solutions Softlab Ltd - A BMW Company > -----Original Message----- > From: ricardo_x [mailto:ricardo_xat_private] > Sent: Sunday, June 10, 2001 11:27 PM > To: vuln-devat_private > Subject: Re: Crack Office XP > > > > ... just wanted to add my 2 cents: > > folks, > regardless whether any progy/os is crackable or not (btw please add > office-xp to the list) > what I find incredible and a true issue to this newsgroup is > micro$oft's > intention to 100% implement > the raw sockets specification.
