    With Linux you can mount a vfat filesystem with some special options
    to allow non-vfat-standard characters in filenames and other nasty
    cruft.
    
    I don't think you can do anything with this, other than trashing up
    someones filesystem. Maybe you can "hide" files because Windows refuses
    to show them (as you noticed with your Amiga CD). But the file would probably
    still turn up in the 'Total Size' information when compared to the shown
    files.
