If you turn that option off, then you never get any searches.

Y not edit the keys in the registry to reflect the site u want to search from....example i would like the address bar to try google.com

i would edit some keys under:
(on my windows 2000 advanced server machine)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
