Forwarded From: "Spencer, Will" <wspencert_private> IBM Ties Single Sign-On Software To Tivoli Platform IBM yesterday introduced a new version of its single sign-on security software that will let IT administrators manage end users' passwords from Tivoli's enterprise-management system. IBM Global Sign-On version 2 is now available as a Tivoli Plus Module, enabling the single sign-on software to take advantage of the features of Tivoli's TME 10. Single sign-on systems such as Global Sign-On are designed to let end users access everything from E-mail to high-end production applications with one user ID and password. The integration between IBM Global Sign-On and TME 10 will make user security easier to administer, says Kate Brew, product line manager of security for Tivoli, an IBM unit. For example, IT managers will be able to automatically install the single sign-on software--both client software and server agents--from the Tivoli Enterprise Console via the console's software distribution capabilities. Other features include the ability to set rules from TME 10 that determine which users can log on to which systems and applications, and check in real time logon attempts, password resets, and other Global Sign-On events. IBM Global Sign-On 2.0 will be available in August. The Global Sign-On client will be priced at $75 per user and the Global Sign-On will be priced at $1,999. -- Beth Davis -o- Subscribe: mail majordomot_private with "subscribe isn".
