    TOKYO (Nikkei Byte) [3.15.99] - Otsuka Shokai Co., Ltd. announced that in
    May it will begin to offer 24-hour, 365-day service for remote computer
    virus probing for enterprises.
        
    Otsuka Shokai's monitoring center will remotely probe virus intrusions and
    infections that might happen in enterprises where Trend Micro Inc. of
    Japan's "Trend Virus Control System" anti-virus software is installed in
    their PCs. The latest versions of anti-virus software and virus pattern
    files are distributed to the enterprises.
        
    When virus infection is found, this service will immediately report it to
    the system administrator of the company and submit a report that describes
    the route of infection and remedial measures. The service will also
    include as standard a guarantee for data recovery.
        
    If the hard disk of the server is destroyed by a virus, Otsuka Shokai will
    provide a data recovery service free of charge. This guarantee service is
    offered in cooperation with Yasuda Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd.
        
    The service will commence on May 1, 1999. The fee starts from the initial
    800,000 yen (120.61 yen=US$1), with a monthly charge of 100,000 yen.
