One of the two Tesoro High School seniors accused of burglarizing their
school in May and hacking into a teacher's computer has been sentenced
to three years' probation and 200 hours of community service.

Tanvir Singh, 18, of Ladera Ranch pleaded guilty in court to one felony
count and one misdemeanor count under a plea deal negotiated Tuesday. In
exchange, prosecutors dropped the three other felony counts against him
and could call on him to testify against his alleged co-conspirator,
Omar Khan, who faces 69 felony counts and is believed to be the
mastermind of the plot.

Singh also will have to pay court fees and all restitution, including
possible damages to the school, said Susan Schroeder of the Orange
County District Attorney's Office.

With good behavior, Singh will have the opportunity to have his felony
count reduced to a misdemeanor after one year. And after successful
completion of probation, the misdemeanor count also could be expunged
from his record – a standard procedure, prosecutors said.
