According to the paper the unit is to be activated in early 2011 and operate 24 hours a day against both civilian and military cyberattacks. Turun Sanomat added that the unit would be tasked with monitoring data security, detect attacks and coordinate countermeasures. Last year, Nato founded a cyber defence centre in Tallinn in the wake of a spate of cyberattacks against Estonia in 2007.
