This is the offical announcement for SummerCon 1999. Like last year,
this years conference is going to be in Atlanta, GA on June 4th, 5th,
and 6th.
We have an outstanding hotel this year. The conference will be held at
the Omni Hotel which is part of the CNN Center in downtown Atlanta.
Who's Invited:
Calling all hackers, phreakers, phrackers, feds,
2600 kids, cops, security professionals, Y-WiND0z3,
r00t kids club, press, groupies, chicks, conf whores
and k0d3 kids. And everyone else.
Pricing:
Feds: $500
Press: $100
Other: FREE
Tee Shirts will be sold to help pay for the conference.
Scheduled Speakers:
If you would like to speak, send an email to
sconat_private with a paragraph of what you would
like to speak on. The official list still has to be
compiled but we still need more speakers.
Rules:
Don't do anything your parents wouldn't approve of.
No shitting in b_'s toilet.
Damage or destruction of hotel property will not be tolorated.
Hotel Information:
The conference will be held at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in
the Knowllwood Room. Since we will be at CNN Center, there
should be oportunities to see CNN in action. In fact,
CNN Interactive has large windows allowing anyone to observe
their daily activities.
The Omni is probably not used to having large amounts of
computer enthusiasts roaming their hotel. I did what I could
to get the conference a discount rate for the conference. If
you call the Hotel @ 404-659-0000 and tell them you are going
to attend "The Summer Security Conference" you should be able
to receive a discount. I found the Hotel a bit difficult to work
with, and so might you. There are other hotels close by and if
you are looking for a thrifty rate, you will be better off not
staying at the Omni.
Directions:
Hartsfield International Airport AND THE SOUTH: Take I-85N to the
International Blvd. Exit. Turn left onto
International Blvd

After you cross Marietta ST., come to the
top of the hill
and look for the Omni at CNN Center.
FROM THE NORTH: Take I-75/85S to Williams St., (Exit
99). Go straight on Williams St. until you reach
International Blvd. Turn right onto International Blvd.
After you cross Marietta St., come to the top of the hill
and
look for the Omni at CNN Center.
FROM THE WEST: Take I-20 East to Spring St., (Exit 22).
Turn left on Spring St., continue on Spring to Marietta St.
and turn left. Go to the 2nd traffic light and turn left
onto
International Blvd.
FROM THE EAST: Take I-20 West to the Spring St. Exit.
Turn right onto Spring St. Contintue on Spring to
Marietta St. and turn left. Go to the second traffic light
and turn left onto International Blvd.
TAKING MARTA: Take the westbound train to the Omni
Station (W-1). You should be pretty close to the Omni.
