NIS uses a lot of the files from @tGuard. Unfortunately, when NIS is installed while @tGuard still exists, major problems occur. @tGuard needs to be completely removed from your box if you intend to trial or use NIS This from Steve Gibson's pages (http://grc.com/su-firewalls.htm): A WARNING TO CURRENT ATGUARD USERS: The two products are still so similar that NIS2K's files utterly collided with AtGuard's when NIS2K was installed on the same machine! Attempting to edit NIS2K's settings brought up AtGuard's dialog boxes! So, at least in the case of this NIS2K beta, you absolutely must remove AtGuard before installing NIS2K. Things are still obviously wrinkled for the two f/walls. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 6.5.2 -- QDPGP 2.61 Comment: Privacy is your right iQA/AwUBOH1g8wiK90dv14WBEQK6XwCeLv4+DhrgLubzY6Kp3JYt7mzsSsoAoO18 xwG6W0teNgHsUm2jDvtYAXYE =2ZPV -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Brad Griffin Infotech devotee & e-mail addict I hunt spammers CQU Rockhampton, Australia Useful links: http://www.pgpi.org/ http://spamcop.net/ http://www.pc-help.org/trace.htm http://www.avp.ru/
