www.securityfocus.com is probably the best for hardcore geeky information. www.sans.org has a lot of good white papers. Lance Spitzner has written a lot of really great papers on security. They are pretty hardcore stuff, but very informative: http://www.enteract.com/~lspitz/papers.html I am giving a very basic presentation to the Portland Chamber of Commerce on network and computer security. Its at the NW Natural building, on the 4th Floor (220 NW Second Ave- between Davis & Everett) from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. As for books, I really liked the Hacking Exposed books. They were pretty easy to read and chock full of good info. I didn't much care for the White Hat Security Arsenal (they didn't even mention intrusion detection systems!).
