      Software Engineer
    
    We currently have an opening for one experienced and highly motivated 
    *software engineer* in our downtown Portland, Oregon office.
    
    As a core member of WireX's research/Immunix secure OS engineering team, 
    you'll be responsible for helping to integrate Immunix technologies 
    (such as FormatGuard <http://immunix.org/formatguard.html>, RaceGuard 
    <http://wirex.com/%7Ecrispin/raceguard.pdf>, and SubDomain 
    <http://immunix.org/subdomain.html>) into major pieces of Linux 
    infrastructure such as the kernel, the LSM <http://lsm.immunix.org/> 
    (Linux Security Modules) interface, and glibc 
    <http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/libc.html>.
    
    
        Responsibilities:
    
    You would specifically be responsible for these aspects of Immunix 
    Secure OS development:
    
        * integrate Immunix technologies into glibc and similar libraries,
          and forward port those changes to new releases of these libraries
        * integrate Immunix technologies into the Linux kernel, either
          directly or using the LSM <http://lsm.immunix.org/> interface
        * apply Immunix security technologies to other system components as
          needed
    
    
        Background/Experience:
    
        * excellent C programming skills
        * exposure and interest in computer security
        * experience modifying glibc
        * experience modifying the Linux kernel
        * excellent communication and collaboration skills.
        * a team player attitude.
        * BS in EE, CS or related field is appreciated, but not required: 
          WireX values "hack ability".
    
    
      Compensation
    
    Comensurate with experience. WireX is a pre-IPO start-up company with a 
    stock option program, 401(K),  health benefits including dental and
