Contract Java/Smartcard Software Engineer
We have a short-term need (1-3 months) for a software engineer to work
on a special project involving Java and smartcards. In this project, we
need a web server application and a web browser client to work with a
Java smartcard for PKI authentication. The server application is under
development. The web clients are the common Microsoft IE and
Netscape/Mozilla clients.
Responsibilities:
You would be responsible for developing an applet that downloads from
the server into the web browser, and from there interacts with a
smartcard reader and the smartcard itself to authenticate the user back
to the server.
Background/Experience:
* Java programming skills
* Javascript programming skills
* Experience working with smartcards
* Experience in PKI authentication
* Good communication and collaboration skills
* A team player attitude
* BS in EE, CS or related field is appreciated, but not required:
WireX values "hack ability".
Compensation
Comensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be engaged as
a 1099 contractor at an hourly rate. Specific rate and payment terms to
be negotiated.
We /prefer/ candidates who can meet with us in our Portland Oregon
offices. However, only one or two such meetings are required, and we
will consider telecommuting options. For highly qualified candidates, we
will consider completely remote operations. Candidates should have the
legal right to work in the United States.
