    Thank you for the information.  While the 809 scam does exist and does
    cost
    consumers and businesses money, some of the information cited in the
    email
    is simply not true, such as the amount being charged.  Also, you will
    notice
    that the person cited as an AT&T Field Service Mananger has an
    incomplete
    phone number, and therefore cannot be contacted easily, if she even
    exists.

    Again, the 809 scam is *not* a hoax, but the information presented in
    the
    email is not completely accurate and has many qualities that make it
    similar
