I guess the timing was just about right. I just got an email from my wife at Xerox (she is does network support there) and she has a bunch of tickets from users that have gotten hit with it. Sometimes I am really glad we use Lotus Notes here. That is, someone on this list could be infected. But you aren't receiving it *through* the mailing list. And I don't recognize your email address, so I don't think you email much here for someone on this list to capture your address and then send you the worm. The worm comes from someone who has your address in his address book. And likely the timing is due to my sending the message to CRIME with the anticipation that it was going to go much more ballistic than what we already were seeing at the lab. Jimmy -----Original Message----- From: soren.j.winslow@private To: crime@private Sent: 8/1/03 12:54 PM Subject: CRIME The New Worm I got the email from this list about that new worm. Since then I have received three emails with that file attached. The only thing I can think of is that it is coming from someone on this list? Is this happening to anyone else? Soren
