Northrop Grumman has won a contract to develop the Law Enforcement
Information Exchange (LInX) system for state, local and federal agencies
in the Puget Sound region. LInX will allow investigators in different
jurisdictions to share data and link databases, potentially finding
connections that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. The 18 month
contract starts with a $1.25 million investment, but could expand to as
high as $10 million. The City of Seattle, Kitsap, Snohomish and King
counties, the Washington State Patrol, and the Naval Criminal
Investigative Service are participating in the project.
