As I recall, webex will give your company a specific web space based upon a virtual name. However, I belive that one IP you can block is 64.68.120.32, which seems to be one of their core servers. We use webex rather extensively and I'd love to find a lower cost alternative to them. Any ideas? -----Original Message----- From: firewall-wizards-adminat_private [mailto:firewall-wizards-adminat_private]On Behalf Of firewall-wizards-requestat_private Sent: Tuesday, October 08, 2002 11:00 AM To: firewall-wizardsat_private Subject: firewall-wizards digest, Vol 1 #704 - 5 msgs Send firewall-wizards mailing list submissions to firewall-wizardsat_private To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://honor.icsalabs.com/mailman/listinfo/firewall-wizards or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to firewall-wizards-requestat_private You can reach the person managing the list at firewall-wizards-adminat_private When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of firewall-wizards digest..." I'm looking for a way to block WebEx communication to/from our company network. I'm interested in finding a reliable, easy to implement method for our Win2K network. We have Cisco firewalls in place, so my first thought was to simply block the WebEx server Ips. I'm having trouble locating a list of these addresses, has anyone compiled a list they might be willing to share? Thanks in advance! He has Novell Netware 4.2 servers running at his site that contains a database he'd like his clients to access form a program he's written for the. The Program will be installed on the local PC, the database will then have to be mapped via the VPN client.=20 He has, in the past enjoyed a strictly IPX/SPX network knowing that this decreases his risk of exposing his servers. Is there a firewall product out there we can use that allows a VPN connection to utilize IPX/SPX for several and eventually tens of clients to map a drive to the Novell server(s)? =20 Clients will no doubt use DSL for connections Thanks in advance, Brian Brian Bettger Systems Engineer Diversint, Inc. Naturally, most of the SOHO class appliances are limited to 10 mb/s. I am looking for something along the lines of a Linksys / Netgear / D-link / WatchGuard / SonicWall /... that allows 100 mb/s WAN throughput with most of, if not all, the standard functions such as port mapping, filtering, etc. Reasonable cost would be around $300-500. Any recommendations out there? =20 Thanks in advance, Brian Brian Bettger Systems Engineer Diversint, Inc. There is something to the idea of using IPX/SPX only on your LAN. What are they doing for internet-access, if I may ask? You do mention that the users would be using DSL/Cable for access. Novell Bordermanager (http://www.novell.com/products/bordermanager/) does have a VPN client, and I've seen documentation of past versions include specifics of how to configure the VPN client for IPX access. They've even received ISCA certification of their firewall product. However, the latest version of the product requires Netware 5.1 and eDirectory 8.6.2 to work, something your client is a few years away from. If he isn't afraid of running two NDS trees, it could work. I honestly don't know if they still have IPX support in their VPN client, but they did once-upon-a-time. --__--__-- Message: 5 Date: Tue, 8 Oct 2002 08:09:31 +0200 From: Luca Berra <blucaat_private> To: firewall-wizardsat_private Subject: Re: [fw-wiz] Firewalls on an IPX/SPX network On Mon, Oct 07, 2002 at 02:32:14PM -0700, Brian Bettger wrote: >He has, in the past enjoyed a strictly IPX/SPX network knowing that this >decreases his risk of exposing his servers. Dunno about a specific product, but since ipx is running on top of ppp it should reasonably possible to make it run over pptp as well. I don't know of any firewall that can do packet filtering or content inspection on IPX, but maybe you can get some packet filtering with cisco IOS (i have not used the ipx feature set for eons).
