    Hello all,

The Honeynet Project and the Honeynet Research Alliance have released the
Scan of the Month for August. Decode obfuscated network traffic, analyze
hostile binaries, guess the attacker motives, propose network
countermeasures - all the security fun and learning in the Honeynet Scan
    of the Month contest.

This Scan of the Month involves the same attack where the NVP-based
backdoor was installed on the penetrated system (see Reverse Challenge for
more details on the binary). In this contest you are asked to analyze
further actions of the same attacker. Required skill level - Intermediate.

The details of the latest Scan of the Month are available at:

               http://project.honeynet.org/scans/scan22/

The deadline for submissions is 23:00 GMT, Friday, August 23, 2002.
Results will be released Friday, August 30, 2002.

    Best,
