I think having a Web page FAQ would be a good idea. If someone asks a question that is covered in the FAQ, reject it while giving them the URL of the FAQ. I don't the weekly posting of the entire FAQ will be worth the hassle. I sure don't want to receive it all of the time. If I am outvoted by the majority, then please post it with an easily identifiable subject so I can file it appropriately. Someone mentioned posting it as a discussion topic. I'd personally rather that not happen, as we (myself included) might get carried away nitpicking on the wording and generating too much traffic (and wasting too much time). If the FAQ could contain or point to simple E-mail list etiquette rules as well, then it is a double bonus. I myself have come up with a blanket "auto vacation/holiday reply" reply, but I really should be doing more productive things with my time :-) Thanks, Brian -- Brian Eckman Security Analyst OIT Security and Assurance University of Minnesota 612-626-7737 "There are 10 types of people in this world.
