    Additionally, as another factor to consider, even the act of recording the log in the first place is under scrutiny.  It has been successfully argued that the logging of traffic on a computer network is a form of wiretapping, and therefore is covered by laws, both federal and state (which may be more restrictive than the federal).  Banners which are carefully worded and legally meaningful, and consent recording ("By selecting the 'yes' button you agre to .....") are necessary.

    Really need to check with lawyers knowledgeable about the subject (both federal and individual states) to ascertain the proper consent recording required.
