OSSEC is an Open Source Host-based Intrusion Detection System. It
performs log analysis, integrity checking, Windows registry monitoring, 
rootkit detection, time-based alerting and active response.

It runs on most operating systems, including Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD,
MacOS, Solaris and Windows.

We are pleased to announce the availability of OSSEC version 1.1. This
new version comes with numerous bug fixes and new features, including 
support for:

    * Microsoft IIS 6
    * Cisco VPN concentrator
    * Cisco PIX VPN AAA
    * Cisco FWSM
    * Solaris 10/OpenBSD "su" logs.
    * Granular e-mail alerting options

We also created a new Windows agent installer and added more advanced log
analysis rules options. More information at
