That is one of the features I'd add once we (hopefully) move to a more advanced syslogd (the most likely choice appears to be forking Darren Reed's nsyslogd). So, yes, you'd have to use log file monitoring tools or have syslogd write into a pipe, -- which is supported, see syslog.conf(5), -- and have your script read messages off the pipe and e-mail them. -- /sd
