Brian, There is a pluggin that pulls active windows services. http://cgi.nessus.org/plugins/dump.php3?id=10456 just egrep the output to what your looking for. If you're looking to catch all active processes then I believe that is a different story. If you find out I'm also interested, so please let me know. I am looking for a plugin that will attempt to determine whether or not the computer being scanned is running F-Secure antivirus client in particular, but am also interested in other clients being checked for. I was unable to find such a plugin on this site or anywhere else on the web, so I am assuming I will have to read up and just write my own. I wanted to solicit your opinions first. Has this been done/attempted before? If not, does this sound technically feasible? Where can I find more information on how to write plugins for nessus? Thanks for your help and I apologize for my newbie-esque post. Hopefully once I learn to write some plugins I can help out around here.
