Journalists attending a press conference where Premier Steve Bracks was due to announce tax reform watched as security guards refused Mr Mayne, an accredited journalist, entry to the building in Melbourne. Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance assistant federal secretary, Mark Ryan, said the alliance was quite concerned about the actions of any government which sought to exclude a bona fide member of the alliance.
