Citizens Monitor Web Crime Cams http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2003/06/17/loc_wwwloc1bcyber17.html Citizens on patrol has gone digital in Cincinnati with civilians watching wireless "crime cams" for suspicious activity to report to police, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. At CityWatcher.com, members of neighborhood anti-crime efforts can remotely control webcams pointed at crime-prone areas. The cameras, which tile, pan and zoom and have night color vision, cost more than $24,000 each. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- POLITECH -- Declan McCullagh's politics and technology mailing list You may redistribute this message freely if you include this notice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe to Politech: http://www.politechbot.com/info/subscribe.html This message is archived at http://www.politechbot.com/ Declan McCullagh's photographs are at http://www.mccullagh.org/ Like Politech?
