Citizens on patrol has gone digital in Cincinnati with civilians watching
wireless "crime cams" for suspicious activity to report to police, the
Cincinnati Enquirer reports. At CityWatcher.com, members of neighborhood
anti-crime efforts can remotely control webcams pointed at crime-prone
areas. The company that sells the camera and the service grew from the
efforts of two Cincinnati residents to stop vandalism and other problems at
properties around the city one of the men owns. The cameras, which tile,
pan and zoom and have night color vision, cost more than $24,000 each.
