Certeainly you're right. The product brief (home page) states: "Perl2Exe is a command line program for converting perl scripts to exe files. This allows you to create stand alone programs in perl that do not require the perl interpreter. You can ship the exe file without having to ship your perl source code" Also I couldn't find anything related to secure deployment of Perl scripts using Perl2Exe. This is a common misbelief, and is a clear example of the difference between "encription" and "obfuscation". I think that the confusing paragraph is in http://www.indigostar.com/perl2exe.htm, where it reads : "You can also ship the executable file without having to ship your perl source code." This can give the feeling that if you don't ship the code it can't be known (I know, I know, secure programming is not about feelings). > I am sending u a copy of this extracting code for your comments and > suggestions. I think that a litlle e-mail explaining this misbelief to IndigoStar will not harm anyone. Don't you ?? Cheers -- Victor A.
