Nessus 1.0.9 by Stephan Binner (http://freshmeat.net/users/stbinner/) Tuesday, August 7th 2001 16:06 About: Nessus is a remote security scanner for Linux, BSD, Solaris, and other Unices. It is multi-threaded and plug-in-based, has a GTK interface, and performs over 500 remote security checks. It allows for reports to be generated in HTML, XML, LaTeX, and ASCII text, and suggests solutions for security problems. Changes: A bug which would cause the client to crash when sending a too long plugin list has been fixed. This version has a workaround for a Linux bug that makes recv() behave differently. Various issues and a deadlock in the libpeks have been fixed. There are now more plugins and over 700 security checks.
