About: Crank is a project to provide a GUI toolkit to facilitate (and where
possible, automate) the breaking of classical (pen-and-paper)
cryptosystems. Initial focus is on the cryptanalysis of monoalphabetic
    substitution ciphers.

Changes: A log window has been added for messages from running algorithms.
A scheme interface now exists using Guile, and this has been used to create
preset groups of componant settings. Two new componants have also been
included: a simulated annealing algorithm, and the grid transposition
    cipher from the stable branch.
