    Title: Information Security Analyst
    Level: junior through mid levels

    Summary Description:  Information Security Analyst for the Managed Security Services division.Under direct supervision, the analyst will provide support for the day-to-day operations involving the remote monitoring of intrusion detection systems and firewalls located on our clients' networks.  Typical duties will involve the monitoring, collection and analysis of event data including information about computer intrusion events and misuse.  The analyst will create reports that are sent directly to clients.  Analysts may also interact with clients for implementation of security safeguards.
    
    Responsible for software maintenance, troubleshooting, system security, upgrades and support.  Maintain and assist with a number of the latest information security products including intrusion detection systems (such as RealSecure, NetProwler, NetRanger, Dragon) and firewalls (such as Checkpoint, Raptor).
    
    Assist with the configuration, setup and deployment of hardware and software associated with these services.  Candidate may be required to travel in support of client installations, typically involving 2 to 3 day trips within the United States.
    
    Training will be provided.
    
    The candidate may be required to work rotational and shift work.
    
    The following background, skills, or proficiency levels are typically required:
    
    Background:  Typically requires a bachelor's degree and one years experience in a recognized technical, business or other related discipline or three years related experience.  Candidates should have strong knowledge and experience in network or system administration on Unix and/or WindowsNT platforms.  Knowledge of information security and intrusion detection systems required for mid levels.
    
    Mathematical Skills:  Basic math
    
    Reasoning Skills:  Choice of action requires more than common sense in that some training and experience is needed before knowing what to do under special circumstances.
    
    Verbal & Written Communication Skills:  Correct verbal usage, written or oral, is needed to accurately post and copy information, carry out and understand assignments or convey or exchange technical information.
    
    Computer-based skills:  Comprehensive knowledge of basic computer hardware and software fundamentals.  Proficient as a user of computers.  Skilled user of capabilities such as electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
