Counterpane Internet Security is looking for a seasoned information security professional to act as a Senior Security Engineer. Qualifications for the ideal candidate include: 5-8 years information security experience 1-3 years information security consulting experience Expert knowledge of LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls and other security and network devices Capable of assessing and evaluating new network and security technologies Prior work experience managing a technical team Working knowledge of system security analysis and risk assessment methodologies Expert knowledge of security vulnerability analysis Expert knowledge of intrusion detection, incident response, and prevention BS Computer Science or Equivalent CISSP Certification desired Senior Security Engineer: The Senior Security Engineer will lead the Security Analyst team in the pursuit of defending each of Counterpane's Customers by responding to incidents and participating in the evolution of the monitoring service. The Senior Security Engineer will act as a security expert for security events and incident response. S/he will provide installation, configuration, and maintenance support from the Secure Operation Center located in Chantilly, Virginia. Very little travel required.
