InQuent Technologies Inc. is looking for a highly motivated information security professional with a background in security system administration and monitoring. We are offering a contract Information Security Analyst position in Toronto, Ontario until the end of 2001 with a strong possibility (but not certainty) to turn the position into full-time. Requirements: * Applied working knowledge of TCP/IP and routing * Solid understanding and practical experience with firewalls, host and network based IDS systems. * Practical experience of detecting and countering malware outbreaks. * Hands on experience of installing and maintaining anti-virus, anti-Trojan software applications, * Minimum 2 years UNIX experience * Experience with the following: - INFOSEC concepts (firewalls, bastion hosts, remote and local exploits, security practices, forensics) - INFOSEC analysis tools (whisker, nmap, Nessus, snort, dsniff, ippl, iplogger, crack, l0phtcrack) - INFOSEC Applications / Architectures (swatch, Tripwire, SSH1/2, OpenSSH, PuTTY, TTSSH, PGP, GnuPG, ipchains packet filter, tcp_wrappers, Kerberos, SecurID, OpenCA) - Administrative scripting (Shell, Perl) - Unix Systems (Solaris, HP-UX, Linux, BSD) - Windows Systems (Win9x, WinNT, Windows 2000) - Various web servers - Various FTP Servers (wu-ftp, ProFTP) - Various Mail Servers (Qmail, Sendmail) - Directory services (LDAP, eDirectory, AD) - DNS and Bind - SQL Databases (MySQL, msql) * Strong technical understanding and troubleshooting skills required * Experience in self-guided and team environments an asset Responsibilities: Deployment and monitoring of new firewall and IDS devices on an expanding network. System security monitoring (log surfing) for external and internal networked devices. Investigating attacks and intrusions against networked devices and systems. Performing network audits and penetration testing according to internal policies. System security support for Unix, NT, CISCO and other systems.
