As an early entrant to the eCommerce arena, (established in the early 1990s) and with a growing team of leading EC specialists (currently a team of 35), our client has conducted hundreds of assignments across many different industry sectors with an emphasis on Government, Financial Services, Telecommunications and Utilities. Our client has developed strategies and solutions for online services, online information and e-Commerce projects for numerous public and private sector entities. Our client specialises in online service delivery, security, smart cards, e-payments, e-procurement and information management. Additional offerings now include Systems Integration & Implementation Services, Project Management and Trust Services. * As a result of its high profile in the market, our client was recently acquired by a leading global provider of secure eCommerce solutions for Internet applications, remote banking, virtual private networks (VPN's) and data critical eCommerce activities. A broad based security business, the group's expertise now ranges from smart card technology, secure email, public key infrastructure (PKI) and firewalls, to secure payments and security consultancy/EC Consultancy. This has further increased the knowledge base and depth of services our Client can offer. Whilst our client is now a subsidiary company, they continue to operate as an autonomous unit. Offices are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra and HK. THE SECURITY PRACTICE Currently the Security Practice performs the following functions: - Business Risk Assessments and Security Reviews - Advise on benefits, opportunities and policy for emerging security technology including PKI, smartcards, digital certificates, CA, single sign-on, user authentication, permission management - Advise on Trust Services - Product and Solution Selection REMUNERATION AUD $150 000 - 175 000 base + $50 000 - 100 000 bonus + Options / Shares + 8% Superannuation (the remuneration for this position is negotiable however will be dependant upon proven candidate experience) The bonus element is composed of two components; - company performance (based on achievement of sales and margin targets for the Consulting Company) - personal performance (based on achievement of revenue targets) LOCATION Australia - Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne START DATE ASAP as @ 27/07/2001 THE POSITION Reporting directly to the General Manager, Consulting Services, the Practice Manager - Security Consulting will be required to: - further develop the existing Security Consulting business for our client; - work closely with the Business Development Manager to leverage off his/her existing network of contacts to increase revenue for the Security, Consulting Group; - develop and maintain relationships with senior personnel in target clients; - consult on the security aspects of complex business issues, strategies, technology and implementation; - manage revenue streams and projects and manage and coach resources; - remain up to date with relevant aspects of security policy, technology and practices; and - work with business partners on nominated bids and assignments. KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE Comprehensive industry experience in Consulting is essential as is understanding the drivers of the general EC and EC security consulting markets within AP. Suitable candidates will have at high profile in the Australian market. You will have exposure to multidisciplinary engagements and possess outstanding conceptual and analytical skills. You will be experienced in security consulting, particularly in the areas of our Client's business. You will be capable of analysing complex business environments, using your initiative to identify problems and opportunities for your practice. You will have the ability and characteristics to work in a small company and ideally have a minimum of seven years technical and/or management consulting experience. Specifically, the successful candidate should have most of the following; - a strategic, high level network of contacts Australia, - strong consulting experience, - strong project management experience, - strong business development experience in Consulting/ Services environments, - leadership skills, - decision making ability, - an appreciation of business practice in the target markets, - the ability to identify and communicate value and benefits across different levels in the client base, - the ability to deploy company resources effectively, - be reliable, honest with a history of personal integrity. WORKING CONDITIONS This position will require interstate travel and some international travel throughout AP. Our client would prefer that the successful candidate be based in Sydney (or be prepared to relocate) however strong candidates based in Melbourne or Canberra will be considered.
