EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMPUTER FORENSIC INVESTIGATOR The New Jersey Attorney General's Office, Division of Criminal Justice, announces openings for Computer Forensic Investigators. Two types of positions are available, a sworn law enforcement track and a civilian analyst track. POSITION DESCRIPTION The New Jersey Attorney General's Office is a state law enforcement agency that has a dedicated Computer Crimes Unit and is in the process of expanding its capabilities. Successful candidates will investigate computer crimes (both traditional and non-traditional offenses), execute search warrants, perform forensic examinations on seized computers and related items/media and testify in Superior Court. REQUIREMENTS Computer Forensic Investigators must possess moderate to high-level computer skills. The prospective candidates should have a law enforcement background or a keen desire to work on behalf of a law enforcement agency. Prior experience with computer forensics and/or a B.S./B.A. in Computer Science or a related discipline is a definite advantage. Successful candidates for the sworn law enforcement positions must attend and complete an 18 week course of basic training at a police academy. ANNUAL SALARY RANGE $33,000 to $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Substantial and ongoing training in computer forensics, search and seizure law, and criminal investigations.
