Pre-Sales/Post Sales System Engineer OpenService is a fast-paced, venture backed system management software firm creating products to meet the demanding requirements of the Internet services, e-commerce and Internet infrastructure markets. OpenService's SystemWatch system management software is based on an advanced distributed architecture providing users with high performance monitoring, high availability and efficient scalability. SystemWatch is available on the UNIX, Linux and Windows NT platforms and is currently being used by leading telecommunications and financial firms. The successful candidate will have experience as a Systems Engineer, Customer Service Engineer or Systems Administrator for network related software management tools. This position involves significant customer contact. Excellent communication, management and organizational skills are a must. Must be authorized to work in the US and willing to travel. As part of the Sales Team, you will be responsible for working with an Account Executive to assist in pre/post sales of OpenService's software products. You will be responsible for: · Making technical presentations. · Acting as the liaison between sales and product engineering. · Providing technical sales and product demonstrations. · Project management and project documentation. · Providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support as well as the installation and configuration of hardware and software. · Qualifying and assisting customers through the design process and implement software solutions. Summary of Qualifications · Firewall and security applications a must. · Familiarity with Checkpoint's Firewall 1, PIX, Raptor firewalls etc. · Previous experience as a systems administrator a major plus. · BS in CS/EE preferred, with 3-5 years pre-sales experience in a technical environment. · Strong technical background in a SUN/Solaris, Unix, Microsoft NT environment. · Through knowledge of TCP/IP protocols. · Self-motivated and an independent thinker.
