I am looking for openings in Canada, Europe, or Middle east. SANJEEV SOOD ********************************* RESUME ********************************** I have over eleven years of hardcore IT experience with various aspects of information technology within both the private and public sectors. As an Information Security Architect I specialize in using advanced security technologies to secure electronic transactions and control access to sensitive information resources. I have served as a technical consultant for NEC BNS, a fortune 64 company specializing in IT infrastructure consulting. I have in-depth exposure to networking and information security technologies. This hands-on experience is complemented by advanced study in the field consisting most recently of a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification, GSEC certification from SANS Institute, and a BS (Honors) degree in Computer Engineering. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Amerinfo, Denver, CO Sr. Network Engineer/Information Security Architect Mar 2001-present In this capacity, I architect network infrastructure design, implementation and support along with security implementations and provide deployment assistance for organizations implementing advanced security technologies, such as PKI and penetration testing and information security assessments and vulnerabilities identification, to facilitate a secure organization. Develop standards foe security architecture for clients with focus on maintaining the integrity and availability of transactions over un trusted networks. Government Agency – Provided detailed design and implementation solution for a large Cisco campus network including VoIP and IP/TV solution emphasizing upon security issues. Achievements: · Trained hundreds of information security and Cisco network engineering professionals throughout the United States and India on the concepts, business benefits, design considerations and implementation issues. · Colorado Region Mentor for SANS Institute to share the knowledge with InfoSec community in connection with SANS GSEC certification programs. · Panel Member on Perimeter Security in Denver SANS, August 2002. Microtech-Tel, Vienna, VA Network Engineer Jan 2000-Mar 2001 Provided LAN/WAN, infrastructure design, implementation, support, and security consulting to clients. Implemented Cisco CCIE level lab including frame-relay, ISDN and VoIP technologies. NEC BNS, Denver, CO Network Engineer/Security Architect Jul 2000-Mar 2001 Worked as Network Engineer with NEC BNS to provide high-level design, implementation and support solutions network engineering and information security technologies to its clients. Provided extensive pre-and-post sales consulting for its customers. PROJECTS University of Colorado Hospital: Worked as a team member with implementation of the entire network of the hospital, including security assessments and recommendations. The switched network has Catalyst 6500, 4000, and 3500 series switches over which various VLANs are configured over Gigabit Ethernet backbone. Commissioned Cisco IP/TV and IP Telephony, as part of the project. Performed security audit using industry standard tools. Performed penetration testing in a non-production environment in order to ensure secure practices in production. Hardin Simmons University: Implemented the entire campus network for Hardin Simmons University. The Gigabit Ethernet network has a Catalyst 6509 at the core providing connectivity to users spread across various buildings. There are four 4005s and about sixty 3500s in the network along with two PIX firewalls in fail-over and two AS5300 access servers providing dial-up connectivity using RADIUS authentication. Recommended and advised security changes and patches to systems. Developed and trained an incident response team for external and internal incidents. Developed detailed reporting methods and procedures for security violations. Telergy: The project involved installation; configuration and testing the data flow through a group of SONET SmartEdge 800a (optical switches). The test plan involved checking the BER and consequently providing the efficiency of the optical switches. City of Englewood: Implemented the network for City of Englewood in which remote offices connect to central office using Cisco equipment including 7200 series routers, 3500 series switches, PIX etc. Western Stone and Metal: Implemented the network having a catalyst 6506 at the core connected to two PIX firewalls and two LocalDirectors and remote offices are connected to this core. Western Stone and Metal: Implemented 6509 based network including PIX firewalls and LocalDirectors. Gathered and analyzed reports against log files of servers, firewalls and routers for optimal security performance. Maintained chain of custody, evidence searches, and reporting procedures. NEC BNS, Denver: Implemented the Cisco Intrusion Detection Systems for security auditing and providing real time monitoring and alerts. Monitor the network for security violations and intrusions. Evaluate WebTrends Security Analyzer, SnifferPro LAN, VisualRoute trace route, HPToptools etc. for overall applicability and security utility. Paetec Communications: Complete extensive internal and external penetration testing and information security assessment, identifying potential security vulnerabilities associated with their systems, processes, and controls. Configure and interpret results of security scanning/vulnerability tools to identify vulnerabilities and exploits from both network and host levels. These tools include commercial products in conjunction with various powerful shareware and freeware tools, and self developed manual techniques. Tupper Lake School: Configured VOIP between the routers for communication between two PBXs, one located in middle school and the other in elementary school. Router-to-router connectivity was through Ethernet media, so the major challenge was synchronizing the clocks. Adam’s County School District: WAN implementation solution using VoIP technology. The Central Site was configured with a Cisco 7200 and remote sites with 3640 routers with EIGRP, Frame Relay and ISDN backup. Cisco 7200 and 3640s were configured with DS3/T3 and T1 cards respectively. EIGRP was optimized for minimum traffic on the Frame Relay links. Jones Radio Network: The network at Jones Radio was very slow. Analyzed the network by data capture analysis using Agilent Internet Advisor and restructured the entire network which started working fine after restructuring. NEC BNS network: Commissioned the office network for NEC BNS, Denver, CO, thus providing connectivity to all the users, using Cisco equipment.
