    Description:  Provides comprehensive and in-depth end-user technical
    support as an internal consultant. May exercise functional technical
    leadership over assigned staff. Performs all procedures necessary to
    ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems
    from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaces with
    users to understand their security needs and implements procedures to
    accommodate them. Ensures that users understand and adhere to necessary
    procedures to maintain security. Conducts accurate evaluation of the
    security level required. Provides management with status reports.

    Education and Typical Years of Experience:  Bachelors degree in a
    related field, or equivalent work experience. Graduate studies in a
    related field desired. Minimum 10 years of related technical support
    experience. An advanced, comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of complex
    computing processes and technology including, servers, gateways,
    communications equipment, workstations, software and hardware and
    associated diagnostics and tools. (Specifics are defined/vary by
    applicable end-user area.) Advanced , comprehensive PC literacy. Minimum
    1-2 years of prior task lead or supervisory/training experience (if
    acting in supervisory role).

    Special Requirements:  Individual will possess extensive experience in
    role as lead security engineer with a strong understanding of
    information system security engineering processes. Background in various
    operating environments a plus. Must posses a thorough knowledge of
    National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Certification &
    Accreditation. Will be responsible for security design, analysis of
    security design, and security testing. Individual will participate in
    producing Certification Plans, Security targets (ST), System Security
    Authorization Agreements (SSAAs), System Security Plans, Contingency
    Plans & Configuration Management. Will participated in all planning and
    oversight of security software development. Applicants selected will be
    subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility
    requirements for access to classified information.
