    Our client is an IT consulting firm based in downtown Boston. They pride 
    themselves on working with only the best technology and with technically 
    savvy, intelligent and demanding clients. This firm has been in business 
    for over 18 years and has enjoyed an outstanding reputation among their 
    clients and competitors for the level of service they provide and their 
    technical know-how. 
    
    Position Overview:
    Our client focuses specifically on providing network design, 
    implementation and support services to small financial firms in the Boston 
    area. Their clients include Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Funds 
    and Money Management firms.
    
    Their clients look to them to provide them with overall support for their 
    internal IT operations on an ongoing basis. 
    
    Their services include computer system audits, security assessments, 
    network design and implementation, ongoing network support of LANs, WANs, 
    VPNs, Internet connectivity and firewalls.
    
    Description of the Role:
    Senior Network Consultant
    As a Senior Network Consultant, you will be involved in the following 
    types of activities:
    •	Conduct weekly network maintenance visits at client sites
    •	Act as the main point of contact for clients
    •	Resolve network and desktop issues in a timely fashion to ensure 
    that clients are able to conduct their business without interruption
    •	Coordinate with client’s other technology providers (ISP, phone 
    vendor, software vendors, etc) to resolve technical issues that may arise
    •	Work weekends and evenings as required - weekend work typically 
    consists of projects (network upgrades, migrations, etc), evening work 
    will involve on-call support to resolve potential client emergencies
    •	Travel to client sites based downtown and along Route 128
    •	Participate in technical meetings, R&D meetings and R&D projects
    •	Interact and develop rapport with client personnel, to include 
    office management, investment partners and associates
    •	Work closely with other consultants, management and operations 
    staff
    
    Experience/Skills Required:
    Individuals applying for this position must possess the following:
    •	Experience implementing and maintaining LANs and WANs in a 
    business environment
    •	Experience working with the following network protocols - TCP/IP, 
    DNS, etc.
    •	Experience working with Windows 98/NT/2000, NT server and Windows 
    2000 server
    •	Experience working with backup software and firewalls
    •	Experience providing desktop support to non-technical users of 
    Microsoft Office and other business applications
    •	Strong troubleshooting and project management skills
    •	Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to represent our 
    client in a professional manner
    •	Bachelor’s degree
    •	A minimum of two years of experience with the above activities
    •	Exceptional communication skills
    
    Experience/Skills Desired:
    •	Microsoft certifications
    •	Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) certification
    •	Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) certification
    •	Cisco PIX or Check Point firewall experience
    •	VPN design experience
    •	Reside in close proximity to downtown Boston
    •	Prior experience working with financial firms, ideally with 
    brokerage/trading operations
