    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Chief Information
    Officer and a department of 9, expanding to 12 security professionals.
    
    CLIENT OVERVIEW: Our client company is a spin-off in 1997 of a well
    known financial services company that has been in existence since the
    beginning of the century. Under the leadership of the current executive
    team the company has grown organically and through acquisition in excess
    of 40% per year and currently enjoys substantial profitability. Our
    client’s core business is providing timely and accurate information to
    enhance their corporate and government customers’ risk assessment,
    pre-leasing, pre-employment and fraud deferring processes.
    
    LOCATION: Atlanta
    
    POSITION IMPACT: The successful candidate will assume enterprise wide
    responsibilities for the architecture, design and implementation of
    information and technology security, which will link security
    initiatives to corporate business objectives. He/she will strengthen the
    mindset at all levels of the organization of the importance of
    protecting the company’s valuable computer resources and information
    assets against accidental, or unauthorized modification, destruction or
    disclosure. He/she will build a world-class team of information security
    professionals and in so doing will, over a multi year initiative, create
    an information security model that will be viewed externally as state of
    the industry.
    
    FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The CISO will have responsibility for
    architecting, implementing and monitoring an enterprise wide information
    security program ensuring the security, integrity, privacy and
    availability of information and systems.The CISO will assess, build and
    lead an effective information security department and serve as the
    information security expert for the executive staff and the
    organization. He/she will manage an expense budget of four million
    dollars and a capital budget based on initiatives. He/she will perform
    security assessments and evaluate the organizations information risks
    and develop appropriate policies and awareness-training programs.He/she
    will establish protocols to proactively test and protect the integrity,
    confidentiality, and availability of information enterprise wide within
    the context of the Privacy and Security policies.The CISO will work
    closely with various technology infrastructure and application groups
    and will develop and maintain effective business continuity and disaster
    recovery plans. He/she will assist in the review of acquisition
    candidates as to their facilities and technology environments to assure
    compliance with corporate security policies and assist in the overall
    integration process.
    
    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate degree with a minimum of 8-10
    years of technology industry experience demonstrating a high level of
    expertise in information security and a wide exposure to all aspects of
    information technology in a large, high transaction environment. Broad
    experience with information security focused technologies such as
    intrusion detection, firewalls, PKI, VPN's, remote computing,
    authentication, biometrics, smart cards etc. Proven ability to
    communicate in understandable terms, complex information, security
    concepts and develop business case justifications in order to influence
    multiple levels of decision makers. Must be able to demonstrate
    successful experience in project leadership for medium to large scale
    ($1-10 million) information security initiatives.
    
    EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a
    related field coupled with an MBA is desirable. It would also be helpful
    to be certified by the ISSA or CSI.
