    I like Crispin's breakdown. Generally the conferences I request are:
    CanSecWest, BlackHat/DefCon, USENIX.
    And I'll try to get SANS training online.
    But consider that these are not introductory in any way shape or form,
    they are absolutely worth the money if you can handle the detail they
    provide.
