    Just because space is marked as "empty" or "Free" doesn't mean it does not
    contain data of interest. deleted files. swap files. etc.
    
    Repeat after me:
    
    "Deleting data does not get rid of it unless you wipe the file."
    
    "Most wiping products do NOT work as advertised, and none of them really
    verify that the data was wiped."
    
    Why do you think data recovery/forensics is so effective?
