Now, I think you are concerned about writing an application that runs with all privileges root has on traditional Unix no matter what module is loaded. In the first case, the _whole point_ of the module is to take away root's permissions. In the second case, your application is going to be run with exactly the privileges the local administrator _wants_ you to have, no matter what module he or she has installed, so why try to fight that and ask for full root access as you are used to?
