I think it is wise if people proposing to do this and that are
aware of the happenings within the syslog-sec IETF group.  They
may appear to some as a waste of time/space, but they do get
recognised in what they do.

So far as syslog over TCP is concerned, some people seem very
excited about using BEEPS for this (data block exchange protocol.)

My reason for mentioning this is there are few enough able hands
working on good open source projects that I'd hate to see people
waste their time/effort on something that goes nowhere.
