    Well,  BEEP is "interesting".  We've started implementing syslog over
    BEEP; it should be out "soon".
    
    However, and this is the only reason I'm reluctant to discuss it, is
    that *at the moment* it carries the standard UC copyright, i.e. free
    for non-commercial and education, not free for commercial use.
    
    Just out of curiousity, is this non-GPL-ness a show stopper for lots
    of people?
    
    I think there is value in having more choices, and even a
    non-completely-free new syslog may help jump-start the rest of the

    There are several syslog projects underway.  We did ours because none
    of them were trying to be fully standards-compliant as far as we could
    tell (last year).
