    Hi,

    I see that a lot of low-level network plugins (e.g. icmp_leak.nasl) use
6 attempts when sending a packet. This matches the Linux kernel's
retries for SYNs and also nmap's retries for SYN scan.

I just wondered what the basis for using 6 was? Does it really give
significantly better results than using three?

    Thanks for any info,

    Paul
