[I thank Ben for replying. Now, has anyone received Godiva marketing email
that will let us take him up on his offer? :) The Association for
Interactive Marketing, FYI, is an independent subsidiary of the Direct
    Marketing Association. Previous Politech message:

    Declan,

The gentleman posting does not seem to know the common definition of
spam, nor actually read the posted Godiva privacy policy. If he bought
something, then the email is not unsolicited as there is now a prior
business relationship. In addition, the policy clearly states this fact
(which he could have read before buying) and makes it known that they
will not share that person's email with another party.

What's more -- show me an email solicitation from Godiva that doesn't
have an opt-out option and I'll buy all of your readers a box of
    chocolates!

    Best,

    Ben
