Title: Security Architect #647 Location: Charlotte, NC Salary: Up to ~130k EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: *Bachelor's degree *Computer Science preferred *Advanced degree preferred *Ten or more years of information technology consulting or managerial experience, at least five of those years spent in information security positions *CISSP preferred POSITION SUMMARY: A Security Architect defines the technological structure required to address the security needs of the Company/Client. The security architect will provide security services to complement the information technology structural design of the Company/Client. This framework will provide for the secure operation of computing platforms, operating systems and networks to ensure the integrity of information assets. To work with projects to implement to the security architectures company wide ensuring the best industry practices are followed. RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include, but are not limited to) *Review and maintain an enterprise security architecture that will provide the security functions required to protect information assets against unauthorized disclosure, modification and destruction *Working with project teams to aid them from the conception phase to the deployment of the project solution ensuring security needs are properly addressed with respect to the project and enterprise security requirements *Work with the business enterprises to collect their business requirements, while educating them on the threats, vulnerabilities and available risk mitigation strategies *Continually evaluate vendors' product strategies and future product statements and advise, which will be most appropriate to pursue *Develop information security strategies that can adapt to the Company's diverse and changing technological needs *Integrate PKI in existing enterprise security architecture and secure messaging for its internal employees, external customers and business partners *Coordinate with corporate security to perform security assessments *Travel to meet with project teams, as necessary KNOWLEDGE AND SPECIAL SKILLS: *In depth technical knowledge of information processing platforms, operating systems and networks in an enterprise distributed environment *In depth knowledge of NetWare, Unix, NT; *In depth knowledge of security technology such as remote access products, single sign-on, PKI, firewalls, etc *Familiar with networking infrastructure components; *Handle multiple tasks simultaneously *Willingness to manage or to personally execute necessary tasks, as resources are required *Ability to identify and apply security techniques to reduce risk in the Company *Technical experience in industrial security, computer systems architecture, design, development and physical, data security, telecommunications networks, auditing techniques and risk analysis principles *Must possess strong communication and presentation skills (written and oral) *Good organizational skills *Ability to work with all levels of management and technical staff *Familiarity with corporate dynamics and general business processes within the health care industry *Must be able to weigh business needs with security requirements ****************************** ALTA ASSOCIATES, INC. is the number one recruiting firm specializing in Information Security.
