Good afternoon Wojciech The German IT market in general, seems to be one of the better areas in Europe to be looking for a new role. We recruit for 3 large blue chips and a couple of start ups across Europe and their German operations are recruiting quite steadily, unlike some other countries where we are experiencing the standard: headcount freeze, no budget, restructuring, redundancies etc etc. With regards to salaries they pay similar to the UK, example, we have recently placed a Technical Consultant @ 170,000.00 DEM (£53,000.00 GBP / $75,000.00 USD) at an e-commerce start up based in Frankfurt. Most companies will sponsor a working visa if the ideal person comes along. These comments are based on what we have experienced in the last 3 months. Regards & good luck. This is similar to the earlier request for info on Australia's infosec job market. I'm in the States now and considering moving back to Europe _in a year or two_. I'm originally from Poland but having been there recently I decided to look at Germany instead, especially since there's been some talk a while back about the computer skill shortage there. Hence, could anyone advise me on the situation in that part of Europe? Aside from security-related positions, what about programming/admin/consultancy jobs in other areas? How do their salaries compare to the rest of the world? Also, what legal/immigration issues should I expect?
