As I stated earlier to Crispin, religion had nothing to do with the point I was trying to make here, it was merely a statement about how complex things are now when it comes to enforcing the law, and how many laws we have to enforce what used to be just a few, simple basic laws. I am not one to not push religion on anyone ever, nor do I want it pushed on me. Sorry if you misunderstood my statement. I happened to see that statement in an e-mail I received and thought it made good sense. Sorry for offending anyone, that was not my intention. As far as defending oneself on the airline, try thinking more about using your body for self defense, and things such as blankets and pillows for defense against a knife attacker, fire extinguishers, your fingers make fantastic weapons in the eyes, your knees, feet, and using your head, in more way than one, hitting them with your head is often a surprise to the attacker, and using your head to think about what you will do next. Heidi Crispin replied to most of this more eloquently than I care to take the time to. I will reply to a couple things- 1. I generally carry a knife that I am comfortable enough with that I could defend myself or my family if necessary. Now they are forcing me to put that away when I am on the airplane, I could start carrying fighting sticks, but why? 2. The fact that the laws are trying to enforce the religious tenants of one single religion is one of the biggest problems with those laws. Maybe if people weren't trying to force their religions down each other's throats, we could spend time doing more interesting things, like say playing with big computers?
