Even among Windows OS's, ME blows big chunks. Consider it a good
opportunity to upgrade that machine to W2K (the last usable Microsoft OS
before Microsoft started pre-installing their own viruses). My wife's ME
machine is horribly unstable. She's considering dumping it completely
and turning it into a Linux server, and doing all her desktop work on
    her Apple iBook.
