As I'm finishing up grad school/seeking employment, I have no idea where
I'll be, or whether I'll be able to afford any of these :-).

It looks like, with ottawa to the east, vancouver and san fran west,
there ought to be *something* near wherever I end up, so I'll just find
and attend the nearest bof :-).
